据普氏能源资讯8月28日首尔报道，韩国政府知识经济部官员周二在首尔披露，负责本国能源、工业和贸易的韩国知识经济部日前与加拿大不列颠哥伦比亚省（BC省）能源部签署了一项旨在共同开发加拿大这个西海岸省页岩气资源的协议。

韩国知识经济部在一份声明中表示，根据在加拿大签署的这份谅解备忘录，加拿大BC省同意允许韩国开发公司参与页岩气项目并向韩国出口更多的天然气。

韩国知识经济部说，这项协议将有助于促进国营韩国天然气公司与其合作伙伴在BC省建造一个液化天然气（LNG）终端的项目。

韩国天然气公司在这个LNG终端项目中的合作伙伴包括荷兰皇家壳牌公司、日本三菱公司和中国石油天然气股份有限公司。

S Korea, Canada's British Columbia sign pact to jointly develop shale gas resources

South Korea's Ministry of Knowledge Economy, which is responsible for energy, industry and commerce, has signed a preliminary agreement with the energy ministry of British Columbia for joint development of shale gas resources in the Canadian west coast province, ministry officials said Tuesday.

Under the memorandum of understanding signed in Canada, British Columbia agreed to allow South Korean developers to join shale gas projects there and export more natural gas to South Korea, the ministry said in a statement.

The accord would help facilitate the project by state-run Korea Gas Corp. to build an LNG terminal there, jointly with Royal Dutch Shell, Mitsubishi and PetroChina, the ministry said.
